○Mappings：對照表

○著錄項目，凡目錄依次記載下列各項：

• (1) 題名及著者敘述項
• (2) 版本項
• (3) 資料特殊細節項
• (4) 出版項
• (5) 稽核項
• (6) 集叢項
• (7) 附註項
• (8) 標準號碼及其他必要記載項

○在MARC中，R：repeatable 可重複的
○在MARC中，NR：unrepeatable 不可重複的
○在MARC中，指引(Indicators)一定有兩項：Frist, Second，0是沒有附註款目，1是有附註款目
○Subfield Codes
$a - Title (NR)
$b - Remainder of title (NR)
$c - Statement of responsibility, etc. (NR)
$f - Inclusive dates (NR)

Time period during which the entirety of the contents of the described materials were created.

$g - Bulk dates (NR)

Time period during which the bulk of the described materials were created.

$h - Medium (NR)
$k - Form (R)

Term that is descriptive of the form of the described materials, determined by an examination of their physical character, subject of their intellectual content, or the order of information within them (e.g., daybooks, diaries, directories, journals, memoranda, etc.).

$n - Number of part/section of a work (R)
$p - Name of part/section of a work (R)
$s - Version (NR)

Name, code, or description of a copy of the described materials that was generated at different times or for different audiences.

$6 - Linkage (NR)

○MARC：MAchine-Readable Cataloging record

○透過電腦可以看到的書目記錄, 大約有四種格式:

• 卡片格式：在書的最後一頁，用框框框起來的資料，出版品預先編目
• 驗證單格式：MACR，給機器看的編碼
• 條列格式：在線上書目顯示出給人看的資料
• 磁帶格式

○在MACR結構中，提到中國機讀格式，一剛開始就說錯了，不應該說Chinese MARC Format是中文機讀格式，所以後來再版有更正

○ISOI：nternational Organization for Standardization

○ISO2709：Information and documentation─Format for information exchange

○打「Aa」是2個Byte，打「A'enter'a」要4個Byte

○在 ISO 2709 的格式裡, 依其性質, 每筆書目記錄的內容, 可以分為四個部份, 依序是:

• 記錄標示, 最前面的24個位元組
• 指引, 每個指引以12個位元組構成, 可以有無數個指引
• 書目資料欄
• 記錄終止符號

○要加緊腳步囉！不要再一直被時間追著跑了。在做英文翻譯時發現，我只能略懂文章的意思，可是我實在沒辦法把它翻譯成一個完整的句子，但也有另外一個可能是，我根本搞不懂它真正的意思，所以才翻不出來，可見我的翻譯還要再多下工夫。

○2010年ISBD的目標

• make records from different sources interchangeable, so that records produced in one country can be easily accepted in library catalogues or other bibliographic lists in any other country.不同來源的書目紀錄得以互相交換，一個國家的圖書館目錄或是其他書目紀錄的單子能輕易的被另一個國家的所接受
• assist in the interpretation of records across language barriers, so that records produced for users of one language can be interpreted by users of other languages.協助書目紀錄的翻譯跨越語文的障礙，一個語言可以被轉換成其他語言
• assist in the conversion of bibliographic records to electronic form.協助轉換傳統的書目紀錄微電子形式的書目紀錄
• enhance interoperability with other content standards.增進與其他內容標準的互通性

○1966年10月機讀編目格式出現→MARCII→USAMARC→UNIMARC→MARC21

○中國機讀格式原是以UNIMARC為藍本，現在改為MARC21

○ % →記錄終止符號； # →欄位終止符號； $ →分欄識別的第一個符號； $ →為了和分欄識別有所區分； b→為了明確表示其位置

○ 1.3. A MARC 21 format is a set of codes and content designators defined for encoding machine-readable records. Formats are defined for five types of data: bibliographic, holdings, authority, classification, and community information.

• 1.3.1. MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data contains format specifications for encoding data elements needed to describe, retrieve, and control various forms of bibliographic material. The MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data is an integrated format defined for the identification and description of different forms of bibliographic material. MARC 21 specifications are defined for books, serials, computer files, maps, music, visual materials, and mixed material. With the full integration of the previously discrete bibliographic formats, consistent definition and usage are maintained for different forms of material.
• 1.3.2. MARC 21 Format for Holdings Data contains format specifications for encoding data elements pertinent to holdings and location data for all forms of material.
• 1.3.3. MARC 21 Format for Authority Data contains format specifications for encoding data elements that identify or control the content and content designation of those portions of a bibliographic record that may be subject to authority control.
• 1.3.4. MARC 21 Format for Classification Data contains format specifications for encoding data elements related to classification numbers and the captions associated with them. Classification records are used for the maintenance and development of classification schemes.
• 1.3.5. MARC 21 Format for Community Information provides format specifications for records containing information about events, programs, services, etc. so that this information can be integrated into the same public access catalogs as data in other record types.
